ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
Lake Norman Homeschool Adventures is a Christian Homeschool Group that meets on Friday afternoons and is purely social, no curriculum. Our goal is to develop sweet friendships & create a positive, uplifting & encouraging community for our homeschooled students. Our adventures are geared towards ages 8-15, but younger and older siblings are welcome to join in the fun too! We go on field trips (most within a 1 hour driving distance), do community service projects (because we believe in teaching our kids to serve, help those less fortunate and give back to the community), we throw some epic holiday parties, and we play outside a lot, enjoying God's beautiful creation.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe in raising our kids God's way, and teaching them what the Word of God says. We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and is therefore our authoritative and infallible guide in all things. It contains a record of God's heart for people since the beginning of time and can give life and freedom to everyone (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).
There is one God who always existed and always will. He exists in three equal persons: the Father; the Son, or Jesus; and the Holy Spirit (the Trinity).
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.

WHAT WE EXPECT
We expect the members of LKN Homeschool Adventures to be respectful, deal with matters in a Christ-like way, and be involved. We want to create a tight-knit community of believers who are there for each other, support one another, and build each other up.
We expect at least one parent to be present at every outing. We do not allow drop-offs. We expect participation. We understand there will be times you can't make it, but we do ask that you to make an effort to attend the majority of our adventures together so our children (and the parents too!) can build friendships that last a lifetime.
We expect you to pay the Registration Fees upon receipt of the confirmation email that your application has been accepted. All Field Trips will be at parent's expense. Details about what the Registration Fees cover can be found here.
We expect parents to take turns signing up to bring snacks, drinks & crafts. When we have events that require these items, a Sign Up Genius will be emailed out. If everyone takes turns, each family should only have to sign up once or twice a semester.
